Background
On July 1st, 2025, the extended producer responsibility for packaging is introduced in Denmark. This means that companies placing packaging on the Danish market are responsible for paying for the collection and treatment of their packaging waste.
As a company, you will have full responsibility for the amount of packaging you bring to the market and the handling of the packaging until end-of-life.
This entails:
- Administrative and legal responsibility (registration and reporting)
- Financial responsibility (covering expenses for logistics, sorting, and processing)
- Practical responsibility (sorting by packaging types).

Fra 2025 indføres et udvidet producentansvar på alt emballage i Danmark. Det betyder, at virksomheder, der anvender emballage til deres produkter, er ansvarlige for at organisere og betale for indsamling og behandling af deres emballageaffald.
Opgaven med at gøre klar til de nye regler koster både arbejdstid og penge for jer, der sætter emballage på markedet. Varefaktas PIDe kan hjælpe din virksomhed godt på vej!
Fra 1. juli 2025 bliver alle danske virksomheder, der importerer eller påfylder emballage, økonomisk ansvarlige for deres emballageaffald. – I skal altså tage økonomisk og praktisk ansvar for, at emballagen indsamles, sorteres og genanvendes bedst muligt efter princippet, at det er forureneren, der skal betale.
Varefaktas PIDe (ProduktInformations-Database for emballage) kan nemt og simpelt hjælpe din virksomhed godt på vej med den dataindsamling som det kommende producentansvar kræver.
